Windsor Medical Group offers a range of obstetric ultrasound scans including:

Early Pregnancy Scans, reassurance scans, ectopic pregnancy and twin scanning

These scan can be carried out privately by any of our consultant obstetricians and gynecologists. Some mothers may have unfortunately suffered from miscarriages in the past and wish to see their baby’s heartbeat confirmed on an ultrasound scan. Some mums to be are unsure of their dates and this can be confirmed very accurately again through a private scan up to 20 weeks. There may be strong family history of multiple pregnancies or twins and again the number of babies you are carrying can be confirmed. In most cases the baby’s heartbeat can be seen through an abdominal (tummy) scan from 8 weeks gestation and by a transvaginal (internal) scan at 6 weeks gestation.  If you have had an ectopic pregnancy in the past, it is advisable that you should have an early scan as soon after your missed period  and a positive pregnancy test.  All these scans can be provided by our consultants privately at Windsor Medical Group at short notice.

Sexing scans

These can be carried out privately from 20 weeks by our experienced obstetric sonographer. Accurate sexing does depend on how the baby is lying however if this cannot be confirmed at your initial appointment, a second appointment will be offered to you at another date.

3D and 4D Ultrasound scans

The best time to do these scans is between 24 and 30 weeks.  Our experienced ultrasonographer will make you feel at ease, as she firstly carries out an assessment of your baby’s health and development, before then showing you live 3D and 4D images of your baby in the womb.  You will get a DVD of the 30 minute appointment, as well black and white photographs.
