Some testimonials

“I suppose I didn’t really think that hysterectomy was something I would have to face in my early 40’s. I remember feeling shocked at the time and felt that I really needed to talk it through with someone, but whom? This proved to initially be pretty difficult until a work colleague gave me Diane’s contact details. It was only then that I felt able to process the thoughts and feelings around my decision as well as the procedure and what it all meant to me and how it might impact on my life. I’m really glad that I chose to do this prior to my decision and procedure and afterwards, as it certainly helped me afterwards in my recovery.”

“I didn’t expect to feel the way I did after my hysterectomy. I hadn’t really given the whole thing much thought. The sense of loss for me coupled with the huge tiredness, I was unprepared for, made things quite emotional for me. I wasn’t sure who to turn to and thought that people would think me silly for feeling the way I was. I saw Diane’s leaflet at the G.Ps surgery one day and thought I would give her a buzz. I’m so glad that I did. In no time at all I was feeling myself again physically and emotionally. Diane was great. She really listened to me and understood where I was coming from and what it what it was like. After the one to one sessions with Diane I started going to the support group where I was able to share my experience with others and actually help support those who were going through what I once had.”

“Living with endometriosis was difficult enough for me without the further concerns of not being understood by my family and friends. Endometriosis had been impacting on my life for longer than I realised. The degree of pain I was suffering was becoming unbearable and as each month went by I was dreading the next. I was reluctant to talk to anyone about how I was feeling and because at times, I just thought that what I was experiencing was normal, and what most women were going through every month. Then, I contacted Diane, through a friend. She really understood where I was and encouraged me to make some decisions to improve my life, ask for help and get further support. I am glad I got the help I needed and now wouldn’t hesitate in reaching out again.”

“It’s difficult to lose a pregnancy at any stage. Women are expected to just carry on and get over it. I felt stuck. It wasn’t until I spoke to Diane that I realised that what I needed to do was to grieve for my loss. Diane helped me to see the importance of taking time to look at how I was feeling and what I was thinking. To give myself permission to take the time I needed to recover and heal from my loss. Miscarriage is one of those things that we tend to avoid talking about and just hope that we get through yet, part of that is accessing support and talking to someone who really wants to listen to your story and experience, then we really can get through it. Thank you so much Diane.”
